MVSC MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS

The Mon Valley Ski Club is an active ski and social club. The Club looks for individuals who  enjoy mountain activities in the winter and a variety of other activities throughout the year. The following are the membership guidelines for becoming a member:

ATTENDANCE IN MEETINGS & EVENTS
Monthly meetings run from September through April. Social events run throughout the year. Locations vary to allow for fun activities and events to be included (e.g., bonfires, potluck, chili cook-offs, Pirate Games, holiday parties, etc.).

A.MEMBERS ARE ENCOURAGED TO WORK AT LEAST 1 EVENT
All the Club events are organized by Club members.  The more active our volunteers, the more activities we can do.  We’re always open to new ideas for events and encourage members to help with them.  Just sign up to work any of the events Mon Valley sponsors. Check the social calendar on our website at https://www.monvalleyskiclub.org to get an idea of events and you might help with or chair.

B. MEMBERSHIP YEAR
The membership year runs from September 1 through August 31.

C. DUES AND FEES
Dues guide our budget.  Dues need to be paid no later than November 30 of the membership year.  If not paid by January 1st, the club will assume you’re no longer interested in being a member for that current year.  You’re encouraged to return to the club at any time and can do so by paying your dues upon your return.    

D. QUALIFICATIONS, OBLIGATIONS

1.GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS 
a. The minimum age shall be 18.
b. Membership is open to skiers, snowboarders, and socially active non-skiers/boarders.
c. Members are encouraged to participate in the various social and organizational activities of the Club.

2. APPLICANT
a. The Applicant shall attend a meeting or function to be introduced to the Board of Directors and members to demonstrate interest in joining the club.  
b. Shall pay dues by the next general membership meeting.

3. ACTIVE MEMBERSHIP OBLIGATIONS
a. Shall attend meetings and participate in social events throughout the year.
b. May hold office in the Club, elect officers, vote on motions presented, and participate in Club-sponsored events.
c. Shall receive all Club correspondence.
